Indoor High Performance

What is Provincial Team? (Indoor)

Sask Volleyball’s High Performance Provincial Team Program (HPPT-SK) provides opportunities to athletes and coaches from across Saskatchewan to represent the province on Provincial, Post-Secondary and National Teams. The program brings together identified high performance athletes from throughout Saskatchewan and provides them instruction with elite coaches and sport science specialists. The training environment is structured to be dedicated, complex, cohesive, and innovative. Our athletes are developed as both students of the game and young professionals. In response to the increased time demand and specialization training methods, athletes are expected to show respect and provide a complete physical and psychological commitment to the program.

Provincial Team training opportunities are in environments designed to reinforce self-ignition and inspire athletes to reach their individual dreams and goals. It is important to Sask Volleyball that a positive impact be felt within Saskatchewan’s competitive club and Post-Secondary environments from athletes who graduate from our program.

In order to follow Volleyball Canada’s guideline of providing more training hours and year-round training opportunities, we are hosting 17U and 18U women and men Final Selection Camps on January 13 & 14 (women born 2000 and 2001) and January 27 & 28 (men born 2000 and 2001) at Bethany College, in Hepburn (half hour north of Saskatoon). The Final Selection Camps are an OPEN invitation to all athletes interested in being a member of our High Performance Provincial Team which will train and complete in the Canada Cup to be held in Richmond B.C on July 18-22, 2018.  Volleyball Canada will host the Canada Cup and for the first time, women and men will complete at the Olympic Oval in Richmond, B.C.

At the Final Camp, we will be selecting 20 – 24 athletes per gender, to train and complete on Team Sask Green and Team Sask White. If you can not attend the Final Selection Camp, please contact Myron (women) myron@saskvolleyball.ca or Joel (men) joel@saskvolleyball.ca to discuss options to be evaluated.
