Performance Bond Policy 

1.     The Saskatchewan Volleyball Association shall require all registered youth teams to post a performance bond to assure that the teams fulfil their commitments to the Association and to tournament hosts (14U, 15U, 16U, 18U, 20U).

2.     Following the Volleyball Canada Championships, teams that have not forfeited their performance bond shall receive a cheque from the SVA returning their performance bond.

3.     The performance bond regulations shall be published in the SVA registration handbook.

Performance Bond Regulations

A.     Pre-Amble

1.         Performance bonds will only be forfeited if a team does not fulfil the requirements of SVA programs, tournament hosts and Volleyball Canada.

2.         A performance bond may be forfeited if:

a)        A team does not arrive for a scheduled match at a sanctioned;

b)        A team does not complete a match scheduled by the tournament host;

c)         A team does not pay an entry fee;

d)         If a team does not show up to assume reasonably stipulated minor officiating duties;

e)        Conduct unbecoming the code of conduct stated by the Volleyball Canada, SVA of conduct detrimental to the image of the sport;

f)          By participating in an unsanctioned event.

g)         A team has been sanctioned by Volleyball Canada at a National Championship.

3.         A written report from the tournament host must be submitted to the SVA office within seven days of the competition, explaining the situation where a forfeiture is requested. 

B.     Age Division Teams

1.         Youth teams shall be all teams registered as 20U, 18U, 16U (15U), or 14U.

2.         For each age division team a $50 performance bond must be posted with the SVA per team in the club.

3.         For each forfeiture of a performance bond, the team must post a subsequence performance bond equal in amount to double the forfeiture bond. If this team forfeits the second bond that team, players, coaches and managers will be suspended until the end of the playing season.

4.         For the purpose of suspension, it is deemed the suspension applies to teams and all players, coaches, and managers registered with that age division team.

5.         At the discretion of the SVA Board of Directors appropriate penalties shall be enforced against any team, player, coach or manager who participates in any SVA recognized event while suspended.

6.         Sanctioned events knowingly involving unregistered players, suspended teams or suspended persons may be penalized at the discretion of the SVA Board of Directors.
