Atomic Volleyball

What is Atomic Volleyball?
Atomic Volleyball is a grassroots program, designed for grades 4-8 in a 1-1.5 hour session to be run once a week for 8-10 weeks. Each week young athletes are taught basic fundamental skills followed by a 4 vs. 4 game on lowered nets. Atomic Volleyball stresses FUN, FAIRPLAY, and PARTICIPATION by increasing the number of ball contacts per player, creating longer and more successful rallies, and by developing proper skill delivery.
The equipment is especially designed for youth and the requirements of growing bodies. The game is played using lighter and softer balls on a badminton court, with the net at badminton height (no higher than 2 meters), and only 4 players per side. This gives the players maximum opportunity to play the ball and have instant success.
How is the Program Delivered?
Either through a clinic at your school delivered through an SVA instructor, or by a club coach or school teacher. The Atomic Volley Instructor’s Guide is an easy to follow guide that includes visual and written descriptions to running the program. Schools may also request to combine Mini Volley and Atomic Volley lessons for different age-groups.
