14U Girls - Competitive

Guidelines

a)    Registered teams must play in a minimum of 2 tournaments to a maximum of 6 competitions (not including Provincials or Nationals) with a minimum of one being an out of town (within Saskatchewan) tournament. Each tournament entered in over the maximum will result in a fine of $275 (equal to an Asics Cup entry fee.  The additional tournaments that the team participates in DO NOT count as points AND the team loses their "star value" for those tournaments and become equivalent to an out of town team or under aged team).

b)    The Asics Sv5T-WL will be the official competition ball for this age category.

c)    14U will utilize the 12 limited substitution rule with no libero.

d)    Coaches must start all players within a match.  Failure to do so results in the team losing their performance bond, followed by a fine.

d)    Head Coaches must be certified Level 1 in Volleyball at the time of registration. First time coaches will be given one year grace period to complete their Level 1.

Tournament Structure

a)      A serpentine seeding system will be utilized to place teams into pools in the preliminary round.
b)      The Saskatchewan Volleyball Association reserves the right to adjust the seeding in order to avoid teams from the same club playing in the same pool in the preliminary draw.
c)      Playoff draws will be arranged to best reflect the number of entries in each tournament.
d)      Provincials will be a re-pool structure - exact format TBD based on number of teams.

Seeding

a)     Seeding for Asics Cup #1 will use the previous seasons 13U Provincial Championship Results to place teams into pools.
b)     Seeding for Asics Cup #2 will use the two highest point accumulations to date that the SVA has received.
c)      Seeding for Provincials will be done by the following:
               a.     The sum of the TWO highest point accumulations (taken from ALL tournaments attended).
               b.     That number divided by two.
               c.     In the case of a Tie, the following proceedure will be used to break the tie.  The steps will be followed in sequence until the tie is broken.
                              1.     The results of matches played head to head in the most recent tournament.
                              2.     The teams with the higher place finish in the most recent tournament both teams attended.
                              3.     The team with more higher placed finishes in all tournaments attended.
