Marchildon and Graham to join Sask Volleyball staff

Sask Volleyball is please to announce the hiring of Eric Marchildon as its new Technical Director, and Tom Graham as its new Coach Development Manager.

Eric has 20 years experience as both a volleyball coach and in the Marketing and Communications industry.  After graduating from Cégep de Jonquière in 1996, he has been a volunteer club director with Saskatoon’s JCVC, assisted with the Prospects Camp, and has coached at the club, high performance, and post-secondary levels.  Eric is certified as an NCCP Performance Coach (formerly Level 3).  Professionally, he has worked at LMNO Consulting (formerly the Marketing Den) in Saskatoon for the past fourteen years as a Producer and Art Director, where he has among other things developed strong strategic and organizational skills.  Eric will oversee Sask Volleyball’s High Performance and Coaching programs and staff.

Dr. Tom Graham is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, University of Idaho and the University of Saskatchewan.  He was a member of the 1976 Canadian Olympic volleyball team, winner of two Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) national championships at the University of Manitoba, and a former athlete of the year at that institution. As a coach at the University of Saskatchewan, Tom was chosen CIS and Canadian Volleyball Association (CVA) Coach of the Year in 1987, and won gold medals at both the Canada Winter Games (1987) and CIS national championship (1988). Tom is certified as an NCCP Performance Coach (formerly Level 3).

Tom has been involved in private consulting, specifically mental skills training for sport and physical activity.  He has also worked for the University of Saskatchewan for the past sixteen years, most recently as the Clinical Research Coordinator in several College of Medicine departments from 2010-2019.

Eric will be starting his position September 9th, and Tom on September 16th, and will both work out of Sask Volleyball’s Saskatoon office, along with our High Performance Manager Joel Dyck.

Sask Volleyball would like to thank Lara Schroeder for her excellent work the past year as High Performance and Coaching Administrator.  Lara is moving on to fill a maternity leave position as Coordinator of Member Services with Saskatchewan Soccer, and will soon be launching a facilitation and consulting business to work with sport organizations to strengthen their organizational operations.
